Dragon LNG and PAVS make a good team

Dragon LNG and Pembrokeshire Association of Voluntary Services (PAVS) recently teamed up to help a Pembroke charity renovate their building.

18 volunteers from the two organisations, spent the morning at The Tanyard Youth Project in Pembroke, on Tuesday 14th May, to help improve the building ahead of their open day on the following weekend. The work carried out included painting walls and railings, removing old benches and making new planters for their outside areas.
Karen Wood, Stakeholder and Communications Manager for Dragon LNG said ‘It was fantastic to see the change in the building from the time we had arrived until we left. Bright lime green paint has been covered with calming blue which compliments the room well and spaces previously covered with big benches were opened up. We were grateful for the opportunity to help a local charity which aligns with our focus on youth development within Pembrokeshire.’
Dragon LNG, who have been operating in Waterston since 2009, have been working in conjunction with PAVS on a staff volunteering recognition project and decided to also take part in a big build morning to help the local community. Whilst benefiting the Tanyard Youth Project, the day also helped with team building – both within the Dragon LNG team and also with the PAVS staff.
Sue Lines, Project Manager for the Tanyard Youth Project, said ‘on behalf of the trustees, staff, other volunteers and especially the children I would like to send our sincere thanks for the energy and enthusiasm the volunteers showed. Their hard work and talents have transformed our space and we are truly grateful for the work you have done, which would have taken us a very long time’
Caroline White, PAVS Volunteering Development Officer, added “It was fantastic for PAVS and Dragon LNG to get together as part of our partnership work to help the Tanyard Youth Project transform their building in time for their open day. Employee Volunteering of this kind is a brilliant way for an organisation or company to contribute to their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by enabling staff to volunteer for a community group in work time”.
Dragon LNG and PAVS will continue to work together with various members of the Dragon LNG Staff to reward their individual volunteering efforts.
