Shift Supervisor
- Full time, permanent role
- Starting salary £73,000 per annum.
Dragon LNG are recruiting for an experienced Shift Supervisor to join our Operations team. The Shift Supervisor will lead the safe, compliant, efficient and reliable operation of the terminal, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and Company procedures.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the role provides day-to-day shift leadership, operational discipline and first-line assurance across LNG unloading, storage and send-out activities. The role will lead and develop Shift Operators and Operations Apprentices while maintaining high standards of safety and environmental compliance.
The successful candidate will oversee terminal operations, including LNG cargo offloading, cryogenic equipment, permits and safe systems of work, operational assurance and emergency response. They will support team competence through CAMS, maintain effective stakeholder communication and promote continuous improvement and constructive challenge.
The role responsibilities include:
- Oversee day-to-day terminal operations, ensuring safe and efficient activities in accordance with operating procedures, work instructions and agreed operating plans, with appropriate shift manning and coordination.
- Plan and manage operational activities, including permits, safe systems of work, LNG cargo offloading and the monitoring and operation of terminal and cryogenic equipment.
- Deliver first-line operational assurance, including checks of handovers, permits, isolations, operational logs and work execution, and support audits and assurance reviews.
- Lead, mentor and motivate Operators and Operations Apprentices, allocate work effectively and support competence and development through CAMS.
- Manage DNAS, complete remit reporting for planned and unplanned events, and maintain effective communication with Shareholders, Customers and relevant internal stakeholders.
- Act as Site Incident Controller during emergencies, coordinating the response with the Site Main Controller, Crisis Manager and emergency services where required.
- Maintain accurate operational records and procedures, and promote Continuous Improvement, constructive challenge and operational discipline to enhance terminal safety, reliability and efficiency.
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience leading shift-based teams in complex process plant environments, including control room and field activities.
- Experience in oil and gas, LNG or another comparable major-hazard process industry, with experience making operational decisions in a live plant environment.
- HNC or equivalent in an operational or engineering discipline.
- Knowledge of UK and international LNG codes of practice and HSE requirements associated with an upper-tier COMAH installation.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively, manage difficult conversations and provide constructive feedback.
- Results-oriented, with a clear focus on plant safety, reliability and efficiency.
