Dragon LNG is seeking a proactive and safety-focused Shift Operator to join our team. Working as part of a collaborative shift team, the successful candidate will be responsible for safely monitoring, controlling, and operating the terminal, plant, and equipment. The role holder will support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the LNG terminal, ensuring strict compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and operational procedures, while contributing to continuous improvement and emergency response readiness.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Plant Operations & Control – Monitoring, controlling and operating terminal plant, equipment and site systems in accordance with approved procedures and work instructions.
  • Driving a Safety Culture – Demonstrating exemplary HSE behaviours, ensuring safe working practices are followed at all times and exercising Stop Work Authority where unsafe conditions or behaviours are identified.
  • Area Competency – Developing and maintaining technical competence across assigned plant areas, including the LNG process, LNG Panel, Jetty and Re-liquefaction Plant.
  • Cargo & Customer Support – Participating in the safe unloading of LNG cargoes and responding appropriately to changing operational or customer requirements.
  • Maintenance Preparation – Safely preparing equipment for maintenance and successfully returning it to service in accordance with site procedures.
  • Assurance & Compliance – Undertaking audits, reviews, investigations and verification activities, while recording precise readings, observations and test results.
  • Emergency Preparedness – Participating actively in emergency exercises, drills and procedure reviews to maintain high levels of readiness.
  • Continuous Improvement – Following complex procedures accurately while proactively identifying and communicating opportunities to improve work processes and operational practices.
  • Collaborative Teamwork – Working closely with the shift team to ensure effective communication, correct prioritisation of activities and seamless shift handovers.

Key Skills & Experience:

Required:

  • Experience in process operations or operational experience gained within a high-hazard industrial, engineering or maintenance environment.
  • Knowledge of health, safety and environmental requirements and legislation associated with an upper-tier COMAH installation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a high level of numeracy and literacy.
  • A strong team player who is result-oriented in terms of achieving maximum plant safety, reliability and efficiency.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, troubleshooting ability and good situational awareness.
  • Computer literate with experience using various IT packages.
  • Physically fit, able to climb ladders and comfortable working at heights.

Desirable:

  • Level 3 qualification in Downstream Field Operations, Process Operations or an engineering discipline.
  • Experience working on an upper-tier COMAH site.
  • Experience of working within the LNG or Oil & Gas industry in an operations role.
  • Experience working as part of a Shift team.
