The Prince’s Trust, founded by HRH, The Prince of Wales, gives a helping hand to disadvantaged youth across the UK. During Dragon LNG’s construction phase The Prince’s Trust and Dragon LNG joined together in an innovative partnership to support disadvantaged young people in Pembrokeshire to access employment in the construction industry.

On the occasion of his visit to the local Prince’s Trust Centre, HRH The Prince of Wales met representatives of Dragon LNG and also presented completion certificates to the young people who had completed the third course.

This programme provided an opportunity for both young people and employers, placing up to 36 young people into employment or training in the sector each year. It provided an informal self-development opportunity for young people in Pembrokeshire and created significant partnerships.

The project has proved so successful that a follow up project ‘Get into’ started in 2008. This Pembrokeshire project continues to provide a good access point into many industry sectors for many of the less confident/disadvantaged young people in the community.
