Get into Construction Programme

The Prince’s Trust and Dragon LNG have joined together in an innovative partnership to support disadvantaged young people in Pembrokeshire to access employment in the construction industry.

Princes TrustPrinces Trust

This programme provides an opportunity for both young people and employers and effectively place up to 36 young people into employment or training in the sector during a year. It seeks to provide an informal self-development opportunity for young people in Pembrokeshire and it is hoped that it will create significant partnerships and build many bridges providing a good access point into the construction sector for many of the less confident/disadvantaged young people in the community.

The programme is in response to research undertaken by The Trust, which outlines the fact that disadvantaged young people want to work, yet lack the knowledge, ‘know-how’ and vocational skills to access such opportunities.

On the occasion of his visit to the local Prince’s Trust Centre, HRH The Prince of Wales met representatives of Dragon LNG and also presented completion certificates to the young people who had completed the third course.
