Welcome
to Dragon LNG

Dragon LNG is a stand alone business
with its own management team. The team draws on the experience
of its three shareholders BG
Group (50%) - a rapidly growing global energy business and a world leader in natural gas, Petronas (30%) - ranked among FORTUNE Global 500's largest corporations in the world and 4Gas (20%) - dedicated to developing and operating Liquefied natural gas import and regasification terminals.*
Liquefied natural gas has been used in the UK for over 40 years and Dragon LNG’s international shareholders have a long history operating in the industry.
18 million households in the UK use natural gas to keep warm and cook meals. Our daily work, rest and play requires a significant amount of energy as we generally enjoy the benefits of living with electricity and gas at our fingertips. The North Sea has fed the UK’s high demand for natural gas to meet many of these energy demands since the 1970’s but its levels are decreasing. Over the next few years, the UK will need to import increasing amounts of gas. Some of this can come through pipelines, but these are then dependent on one particular source. Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) terminals provide flexibility, as the gas can come from anywhere in the world. The ability to import Liquefied natural gas is a significant component within the UK’s long term energy strategy and we are delighted to be a part of that long term plan.
Dragon LNG’s new import, storage and regasification terminal is situated on the shores of the Milford Haven Waterway in Pembrokeshire, South West Wales, alongside the only Coastal National Park in the UK. The ‘Haven’ waterway is one of the deepest natural harbours in the world with over 22 miles of navigable waterway attracting both commercial and leisure vessels. As a key energy provider for the UK, Dragon LNG is proud to be part of Pembrokeshire, a Welsh County with a vibrant history and promising future. We believe this facility will provide significant benefits to the local community, providing around 55 full time jobs directly, with second round effects supporting up to 400 jobs in the area, involving our suppliers and contractors.
*While Dragon LNG is on a site
adjacent to SemLogistics, it is a completely separate
