Health, Safety and Security

The Dragon LNG terminal will comply with UK and relevant European codes and standards. The terminal is subject to the Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH) Regulations, and a report on the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) before the plant can begin operation. This report will consider all aspects of design, management and operation of the plant, particularly how potential accidents would be prevented, using universally deployed techniques.

The facilities will have multiple containment systems, proven operational procedures and many other processes to ensure all activities are carried out efficiently without an impact on the environment.

It will be a national security requirement to surround the site with a security fence. The fencing will be sited around the plant to provide the minimum perimeter distance, which will provide a separation distance between the Pembrokeshire Coast Path and the LNG terminal boundary.
