During 2005, Dragon LNG was formed as a standalone business that draws on the experience of its 3 shareholders; BG Group (50%) Petronas (30%) and 4 Gas (20%).

BG group, a top 25 FTSE company with its headquarters in the UK, is a leading player in the global energy market and has operations in 20 countries over five continents.
The company operates in four major business segments; exploration and production, Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), transmission and distribution and power generation. BG Group uses its liquefied natural gas skills to connect competitively priced gas supplies to high value markets.

Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) is Malaysia's national petroleum corporation with business interests in 35 countries. A wholly-owned government entity, the corporation is vested with the entire oil and gas resources of Malaysia and entrusted with the responsibility for developing and adding value to these resources.
Petronas is engaged in a wide spectrum of petroleum activities, including exploration and production of oil and gas to downstream oil refining; marketing and distribution of petroleum products; trading; gas processing and liquefaction; gas transmission pipeline network operations; marketing of liquefied natural gas; petrochemical manufacturing and marketing; shipping; automotive engineering; and property investment.

4Gas is an independent company with a focus on the development and management of liquefied natural gas import, regasification and storage terminals. It is the world’s only independent company fully focused on liquefied natural gas and dedicated to developing a global network.
